The Branch community
About

A house for people who want to grow

The Branch is a community in Abuja gathered around teaching, prayer, and the person of the Holy Spirit. But we’re carrying something bigger than a Saturday morning.

Timeless truth

We open the word extensively and re-examine old truths for a new generation. Every gathering is recorded, because the word is not a product. If you can be in the room, come. If you can’t, the room comes to you.

Presence conscious

We believe God is raising a people who know how to rest in Him, who live in His presence as natives rather than visitors, and who can look past denominational walls and see Jesus together.

Nation building

A people who carry His presence into how they live, work, and love their nation, and who can be trusted with responsibility in their homes, their work and their country.

Why ‘The Branch’

We take our name from an ancient promise.

A righteous shoot, bringing safety, justice, and a name we can dwell in. That is what we’re contending for: a people so rooted in God’s presence that safety and rest spread from us into our homes and our nation (Jeremiah 33:14-18).

“Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will perform that good thing which I have promised… In those days, and at that time, will I cause the Branch of righteousness to grow up unto David; and he shall execute judgment and righteousness in the land. In those days shall Judah be saved, and Jerusalem shall dwell safely: and this is the name wherewith she shall be called, The LORD our righteousness.”Jeremiah 33:14-18, KJV
A city without walls

A city so full of God’s presence it needed no walls.

Our tagline comes from the prophet Zechariah, who saw a city that God Himself kept safe. That’s the church we’re building: open, undivided by denomination or background, because God Himself is our defence and our glory. Wherever you’ve come from, and whatever your background, there’s a place for you here as we reach out to the whole world.

“Jerusalem shall be inhabited as towns without walls… for I, saith the Lord, will be unto her a wall of fire round about, and will be the glory in the midst of her.”Zechariah 2:4-5, KJV
Our vision

Presence. Oneness. Glory.

We exist to be three things. Each one has a name we say of ourselves, and each one is a way of living rather than a programme to attend.

Presence
A Resting Place
To draw believers into God’s presence and teach them to live there as natives, not visitors: a settled fellowship with the Holy Spirit, not a performance to keep up with Him.
Natives of His presence
Oneness
A Unifying Ground
To present Jesus so clearly that believers from every background and denomination can look past what divides them and belong to one another. We are a melting pot, not a movement built around a personality or a system of doctrine.
Connected to His heartbeat
Glory
A Revelational Platform
To carry fresh insight that equips the wider Body of Christ, and to re-examine truths that don’t always get room on a regular Sunday morning.
Radiant with His glory
Our mission

An atmosphere of His abiding presence

To cultivate an atmosphere of God’s abiding presence, through worship, the teaching of truth (Aletheia), and prayer, that unites believers and forms disciples who walk in the Spirit, love others, and carry God’s glory into every sphere they’re called to.

Beyond Sunday

Why this matters beyond Sunday

We believe faith was never meant to stay private. A people truly at rest in God’s presence become people who can be trusted with eternal responsibility in their homes, their work, and their nation. Part of what we’re building at The Branch is a generation of believers whose faith shapes how they show up as citizens, neighbours, and stewards of what God has entrusted to them.
